SEVENTH SUNDAY OF EASTER MAY 12, 2024

 

SPECIAL MASS WITH PRAYERS FOR THE SICK:

We will have a special mass with prayers for the sick on Thursday, May 16th in the church. We will begin with a rosary and the novena to the Holy Spirit at 6:00 pm praying for the intercession of Our Lady and the outpouring of the Holy Spirit in our parish. The Holy Mass will start at 7:00 pm. We will continue with the exposition of the Blessed Sacrament and prayers for the sick in our community. All are welcome.

SANCTUARY LAMP:

Has been requested by Maria Romano for favors her intention and continued health of mind and body bestowed on the family and for other necessities of the same family.

PARISH PASTORAL COUNCIL:

The president of the Parish Pastoral Council is Maria Pena assisted by Maria Nieves. The secretary of the parish pastoral council is Eva Coper assisted by Enrique Merino. The Trustees of the parish are Lillian Bent and Marilena Reyes Rodriguez.

CHRIST LIFE:

The different leaders elected Lourdes Hernandez as the coordinator for the evangelization in the parish. Elza Velez will serve as the secretary, and Isidro Tavarez will head hospitality assisted by Ana Maria Sanchez. Germaine Scott was elected to head the communication department of Christ Life, assisted by Maria Nieves.

SECOND COLLECTION:

Our second collection to help pay for the repair of the two ejector pumps, was nine hundred eighty and forty cents ($980.40). Thank you so much for your generosity. The cost of repairing the two pumps is ten thousand eight hundred dollars ($10800.00).

TWO MASSES ONLY:

On Sunday, May 26th we shall have two masses only, the 9:00 am and 11:00 am. On this Memorial weekend, we shall not have a 1:00 pm mass. On Monday, May 27th the rectory offices will be closed in observance of Memorial Day.

MAY, JUNE, and JULY:

We are calling on our parish groups and the different ministries to help the parish with one sale of food outside to help us with the cost of running the parish. Truly appreciative of your constant support of our parish. There will be a sign sheet for the leaders to pick a weekend that they can do the fundraising.

R.C.I.A

Registration is always open for adults 18 years old and up who need the sacraments of Baptism, Confirmation, and the Eucharist. If you are planning to get married and have not done any sacra-ments please register with Ms. Gina in the rectory by calling (212) 534 – 1350 from Tuesday to Friday from 11:00 am to 5:00 pm for more information. If you are Bap-tized please bring a copy of the Baptism Certificate if not baptized please bring a copy of your birth certificate.

CARDINAL’S APPEAL:

Thank you for helping us with your sacrifices, and donating to the Cardi-nal’s Appeal this year. We have reached 35% of our goal, so I am asking everyone to make an extra sacrifice to reach our goal as soon as possible. May God bless your generosity and give you much more.

THE VISITATION OF THE BLESSED VIR-GIN MARY:

On Friday, May 31st we will celebrate the feast of the visitation of the Blessed Virgin Mary to her cousin Elizabeth. On this same day we will have the crowning our Blessed Mother in the eve-ning mass. We will begin with the rosary at 6:00pm and the celebration of the Holy Mass at 7:00pm. After mass we will have a procession in the neighborhood and conclude with the crowning of Our Lady.

THE MOST HOLY BODY AND BLOOD OF CHRIST:

On Sunday, June 2nd we will celebrate the Solemnity of the Most Holy Body and Blood of Christ. We will not have the custom-ary procession on the streets. After the 1:00pm mass we will continue with adoration in the church until 5:00pm. All are welcome.
